Every month BikeTekUSA will bring you a new “Hot Tip”. It will be something useful and also on a subject that is applicable to both facilities that have heavy class loads and the single bike owner. All Monthly "Hot Tips” are written exclusively by Jeff Wimmer. If you have a subject that you would like us to consider addressing in our “Monthly Hot Tips’ section; e-mail us at: HotTips@biketekusa.org.

Hot Tip of the Month - March 2010: “Cleaning the handlebars on the new Schwinn AC series bikes”

The new Schwinn AC series bikes have a handlebar coating with a porous outside coating. The best way I’ve found to clean these is with a terry cloth towel, using a bike detailer and Son-of-a gun cleaner, which can be found at most auto parts stores. Spray a small amount of both onto the towel and use a tight twisting motion the clean the areas that absorb sweat.
